Evergreen Financial Counseling provides its services for $25 per household. We are committed to offering our courses without regard to an individual’s ability to pay.
We use the federal poverty guidelines to determine eligibility for reduced fees and fee waivers. These guidelines are updated periodically in the Federal Register by the United States Department of Health and Human Services under 42 U.S.C. 9902(2).
As a general rule:
Households with current income between 100 percent and 150 percent of the applicable poverty guideline may qualify for a reduced fee. In many cases this means a $5 discount from the regular course price.
Households with current income below 100 percent of the applicable poverty guideline may qualify for a full fee waiver.
Full fee waivers may be rebutted. Consistent with 28 C.F.R. 58.21(b)(1)(ii), Evergreen may offer a reduced fee instead of a full waiver if the income information and documentation provided in connection with counseling services show that the client can reasonably afford to pay a small portion of the fee.
